Film Your Day Booking & Hire Agreement

By placing a booking with Film Your Day ("FYD"), you agree to the following terms and conditions.


Payment

Full payment is required at the time of booking.

All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

Bookings are non-refundable. Requests to reschedule may be accommodated at our discretion and are subject to availability.


Rental Period

Your kit will be dispatched to arrive at the beginning of your selected rental period.

All equipment must be returned using the prepaid return label provided no later than the final day of your hire period.

You are responsible for the equipment from the time it is delivered until it has been received back by Film Your Day.


Returns

Only the prepaid return label supplied by Film Your Day may be used.

If your return label is lost or damaged, contact us before returning the equipment.

Late returns incur a fee of $50 NZD per day.


Equipment Responsibility

Customers are responsible for:

  • Safely handling all equipment
  • Ensuring batteries are charged
  • Ensuring memory cards remain inserted
  • Correctly operating the equipment throughout the event
  • Returning all items included in the kit

Film Your Day is not responsible for footage quality, missed moments, or recording issues resulting from customer operation of the equipment.


Damage, Loss & Theft

A $99 NZD damage waiver is included with every booking and covers minor accidental damage only.

The damage waiver does not cover:

  • Theft
  • Loss
  • Water damage
  • Intentional damage
  • Significant damage beyond normal use

Customers may be charged replacement or repair costs up to the full replacement value of any lost, stolen, unreturned, or irreparably damaged equipment or accessories.


Technical Issues

All equipment is tested prior to dispatch.

While we take every reasonable step to ensure equipment functions correctly, Film Your Day cannot guarantee that all footage will be successfully captured.

Film Your Day is not liable for footage that is lost, corrupted, damaged, improperly recorded, accidentally deleted, or affected by equipment malfunction, user error, battery depletion, memory card issues, or other unforeseen technical failures.


Shipping & Delivery

Film Your Day is not responsible for delays caused by courier services, weather events, public holidays, strikes, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Where a delay occurs, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the booking.


Editing & Delivery

Deliverables are provided within approximately four weeks of receiving your returned kit.

Depending on your package, deliverables may include:

  • All raw footage
  • 3–5 minute highlight film
  • 30–60 second social edit

All deliverables are supplied together via a downloadable link sent to the email address provided during booking.

Minor corrections may be offered at our discretion. Revisions are not included.


Music

Film Your Day uses licensed royalty-free music in edited films.

Customers may provide music preferences and we will select the closest available licensed option.

Commercial music cannot be included in delivered films due to copyright restrictions.

The wedding films will be provided with and without music. Social edits will be delivered without music, allowing customers to add music directly within Instagram, TikTok, or other social platforms.


File Storage

Delivered files remain available for download for 30 days.

Customers are responsible for downloading and backing up all content.

Film Your Day does not guarantee long-term storage of footage or edited films beyond the delivery period.


Marketing Consent

When booking with Film Your Day you agree to the use of your footage or images being used for marketing purposes unless contacted by customer to opt out.


Chargebacks & Disputes

Customers agree to contact Film Your Day directly regarding any concerns before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute through their payment provider.


Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Film Your Day's total liability arising from any booking, rental, service, or agreement shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for that booking.

Film Your Day shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, or special loss or damage, including emotional distress, missed moments, or loss of opportunity.


Events Beyond Our Control

Film Your Day is not liable for failure or delay in performing its obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, severe weather, courier disruptions, internet outages, government restrictions, or other unforeseen events.


Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
